LEGO Group adopts two primary school classes

In summer 2007 the LEGO Group took under its wing a complete school year (two classes) at the Vejle school, about 30 km from the LEGO Group headquarters in Denmark. The Group will follow the children right from their first day of school up to 9th Grade. Each year the company will organise a series of events, inviting the children to visit the Billund plant and take part in various activities.

LEGO® Legend Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen Inducted to Toy Industry Hall of Fame

The third generation of the LEGO® family and principal shareholder, Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen was inducted to the Toy Industry Hall of Fame. The ceremony took place as part of the eighth annual T.O.T.Y. (Toy of the Year) Awards event Saturday February 16, 2008 in Manhattan at Chelsea Piers/Pier 60. Established in 1984, the Toy Industry Hall of Fame recognizes individuals who have significantly contributed to the growth and success of the toy industry.

SECOND ANNUAL LEGO CREATIVITY AWARDS!

Five children, ages 6 to 13, will each win $5,000 to fund personal creative pursuits!

ENFIELD, CT (March 5, 2008) – Today, LEGO Systems, Inc. issued the call for all 6-13 year olds who consider themselves curious, imaginative and creative to apply for the second annual LEGO® Creativity Awards. Designed to encourage lifelong curiosity and creativity, the LEGO Creativity Award/s are an opportunity for budding inventors, explorers, creators and dreamers of all kinds to gain recognition for the imaginations that will make them the “builders of tomorrow.” Beginning today through May 23, 2008, children from across the U.S. and Canada (excluding Quebec) are invited to submit essay responses that showcase diverse talents in all things creative.
